Spiral Galaxy Pin
I made a first prototype of these pins last year at QueerCon, a small convention on the days before our local pride parade, where I had a table at the Artist Alley. My original intent was to make an accreting black hole in the agender colors, but it turned out looking more like a spiral galaxy.
I'd rate this pattern at an intermediate difficulty. Instead of working in a single row or round, you will keep multiple strands of yarn active and use one to crochet into stitches that you just created with the other. Thus, I did not number the rounds and provide stitch counts, and the picture are unfortunately a bit busy with yarn.

Steps
Yarn weight: super fine in four colors (A, B, C, D)
Hook size: 2.5 mm
Additional material: A pin or brooch backing with two or three holes.
Abbreviations (US crochet terms)
- ch chain
- sc single crochet
- sc inc single crochet increase (two single crochets in the same stitch)
- sl st slip stitch
- st stitch
In the pictures, I used yarn in the colors of the non-binary pride flag: yellow (A), white (B), purple (C), and black (D).
Color A: In a magic ring (leave a long tail), ch1, 8sc, join with the ch, ch1, sc inc in first sc.

From here on out, work all stitches into the back loop only (BLO), unless noted otherwise.
Furthermore, it is easiest to crochet over the starting tails to avoid weaving them in later.
Color B: Attach to 2nd initial sc, then sc inc.
Color A (working into color B): sc, sc inc.
Color C: Attach to 3rd initial sc, then sc inc.
Color B (working into color C): sc, sc inc.
Color A (working into color B): sc, sc inc, sc.

Color D: Attach to 4th initial sc, then sc inc.
Color C (working into color D): sc, sc inc.
Color B (working into color A): sc, sc inc, sc.
Color A (working into color B): sc x 3, sc inc.
Break color A.

Color A: Attach to 5th initial sc, then sc inc into both loops.
Color D (working into color A): sc, sc inc.
Color C (working into color D): sc, sc inc, sc.
Color B (working into color C): sc x 3, sc inc.
Break color B.

Color B: Attach to 6th initial sc, then sc inc.
Color A (working into color B): sc, sc inc.
Color D (working into color A): sc, sc inc, sc.
Color C (working into color D): sc x 3, sc inc.
Break color C.

Color C: Attach to 7th initial sc, then sc inc.
Color B (working into color A): sc, sc inc.
Color A (working into color D): sc, sc inc, sc.
Color D (working into color C): sc x 3, sc inc.
Break color D.

Color D: Attach to last initial sc, then into th first color A spiral work sc, sc inc, sc, sc inc, sc x 4, sc inc. Break color D.
Color C (working into color D): sc, sc inc, sc, sc inc, sc x 4, sc inc. Break color C.
Color B (working into color C): sc, sc inc, sc x 4, sc inc. Break color B.
Color A (working into color B): sc x 3, sc inc. Break color A.

For a nice finish, create a fake stitch with a tapestry needle by going through the back loop of the next stitch from the front, and then into the top of the last sc. Then weave in the remaining tail.

Turn the piece around and attach the pin/brooch backing with the starting tail of the magic ring.
